  9. This archive contains all libraries, support files and
  10. documentation for MiamiSSL, an implementation of the
  11. SSL (Secure Socket Layer) standard. MiamiSSL is based
  12. on SSLeay by Eric Young.
  13.  
  14. SSL is the standard used by many Web Servers to support
  15. "secure" (encrypted and authenticated) transactions,
  16. allowing you to e.g. safely transmit credit card
  17. numbers across the Internet for online ordering.

  19. In addition to the contents of this archive you also
  20. need a registered version of Miami 2.1 or higher with
  21. new (version-2) keyfiles, and one of the SSL encryption
  22. libraries, containing the strong encryption code. Please
  23. see the docs in this archive for more info on all of
  24. this.

  26. And you will probably want some software that uses
  27. MiamiSSL :). At the moment the only web browsers that
  28. support MiamiSSL are Voyager 2.x or higher, available
  29. from www.vapor.com, IBrowse 1.12 or higher, available
  30. from www.hisoft.co.uk, and AWeb II V3.

  33. IMPORTANT NOTE TO DISTRIBUTORS: This archive does NOT
  34. contain any encryption code, but only the *support files*
  35. and patches for MiamiSSL. The actual encryption code is
  36. distributed separately. This archive is NOT subject to US
  37. export restrictions, and MAY be freely exported from the US.
